Welcome!

Welcome to our Ghana adventure! Follow along while we travel to Kumasi for several months in 2008 for Dusty to complete his dissertation fieldwork. Dusty (Ph.D. candidate in the Anthropology Department at Michigan State University) departs in two weeks, and Elliot (our toddler son) and I (Veronica, on a leave of absence from my position with the Michigan Senate) will follow a few weeks later in February.

We're nervous about what we're in for, sad to be leaving our family and friends for such a long time and definitely excited about the adventure we're about to experience! We hope you will join us on our journey, so please check back often for updates and drop us a line.

I love the pink house - especially the tree in the yard. I will look forward to seeing pics of the inside -- it doesn't look too small. If you all haven't yet read the Number 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith, do so at once -- it isn't Ghana, but give a delightful picture of "real" African people and communities. Good wished, Aunt Mandy

Things just keep getting better and better. What luxury in your "New" house. We're really excited for all of you and look forward to sharing your adventures on your blog.

Best wishes, Aunt Alice & Uncle Carl
